Flat waxed laces · Tar black

One pair of flat waxed cotton laces, 8 mm wide and 140 cm long, which is the length the Gutter, the Sett and the Flagstone ship with. The wax is paraffin worked into the cotton rather than coated onto it, so the lace holds a knot through a wet day and does not creep loose in the eyelets. The aglets are rolled brass, unlacquered, and they dull to a dark gold inside a year. 140 cm suits six or seven eyelet pairs; the high tops want a longer lace than this one. The flat cut is made in Tar black only. Wash them by hand if they get muddy and dry them flat.
