Waxed cotton canvas, fourteen ounces, proofed with paraffin at the mill rather than sprayed after cutting, so the water resistance is in the cloth and comes back when you re-wax it. The collar sits 15 mm lower than the Bollard: it clears the ankle bone and stays out of the way when you ride. The rubber toe bumper is stitched as well as cemented. The sole is vulcanised, 8 mm drop, with a lug deep enough for wet cobbles. Diesel is a dark green-grey, Concrete is mid grey. Waxed canvas creases and lightens where it folds, which is the material and not a fault. Re-wax the toe and the flex line once a year and keep it out of the washing machine.
